Annex Building
Priestly Demolition worked with PCL Construction to demolish the Legislature Annex Building located in Edmonton, Alberta (from the main floor and above), and to repur- pose the site to the satisfaction of the province of Alberta. The scope of work included Interior demolition and hazardous materials removal in addition to the structural demo- lition of the 12-story structure.
Due to the presence of an underground parking lot set to remain, PDI had to develop and engineer an extensive shoring plan to provide the necessary support for the heavy equipment machinery to complete the demolition. PDI utilized a combination of high- reach machines, including the biggest high reach machine in Canada (the SK1600) with a reach of 181 ft to complete the structural demolition. The demolition of this high-pro- file complex project was completed on time and in line with the requirements of the province.
